Fishing Report for the:
Clark Fork River- It fished great last week with skwalas and march browns. There was more than enough good dry fly fishing to be had and yet I saw a few boats fully bobber up. It’s hard to break old habits, I guess. Now the water is clear and cold, and the window for daily dry fly fishing is narrower. It’ll be a couple of days for the h20 temps to rebound and then it should fish great.
Bitterroot River-The dropper danglers have been out in force for at least a month on the Bitterroot. Those fish rise for a natural bug and they get smashed on the head with a tungsten jig. FWP should design a specialized helmet to protect their delicate skulls. That aside, there were some very nice fish taken on the dry last week. Reports from the last day or two have been pretty bleak. look for the march browns to blow up next week.
Blackfoot River- It’ll be streameriffic once the water warms next week. Fish them slow and low and you’ll likely move some dandy fish.
